Flower Piano returns July 11 for it’s 5th year. I’ve been a part of this wonderful and interactive festival featuring 12 Pianos in the SF Botanical Gardens since the 1st festival in 2015. An astounding array of local and international musicians will be performing, and there will also be pianos open for you to play. Saturday, July 12 2:00 – 3:00 pm: I will be Soloist with the Awesome Orchestra Collective in a workshop and performance of Chopin’s beautiful Andante Spianato and Grand Polonaise Brilliante. Look for us at the Fountain..
Sunday July 12 2:00 – 3:00 pm: The Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Saens with pianist Elektra Schmidt and an all-star cast of musicians, including flautist Arturo Rodriguez, clarinetist Beth Custer, Charith Premawardhana on violin, Dan Fabricant on bass, and members of the Awesome Orchestra. Puppeteer Niki Ulehla and Narrator Bobby Coleman will join to make this a uniquely magical performance! Pianist Marc Capelle will then also join me on some wild improvisations on French-themed songs!
