Flower Piano returns July 11 for it’s 5th year. I’ve been a part of this wonderful and interactive festival featuring 12 Pianos in the SF Botanical Gardens since the 1st festival in 2015. An astounding array of local and international musicians will be performing, and there will also be pianos open for you to play. Bring a hat, sweater, picnic and enjoy this free festival celebrating piano music of every genre. Here is a list of my concerts for and the full Flower Piano schedule:
Saturday, July 12 2:00 – 3:00 pm: I will be Soloist with the Awesome Orchestra Collective in a workshop and performance of Chopin’s beautiful Andante Spianato and Grand Polonaise Brilliante. Look for us at the Fountain..
Sunday July 12 2:00 – 3:00 pm: The Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Saens with pianist Elektra Schmidt and an all-star cast of musicians, including flautist Arturo Rodriguez, clarinetist Beth Custer, Charith Premawardhana on violin, Dan Fabricant on bass, and members of the Awesome Orchestra. Puppeteer Niki Ulehla and Narrator Bobby Coleman will join to make this a uniquely magical performance! Pianist Marc Capelle will then also join me on some wild improvisations on French-themed songs!

JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2018: I’ve been working with arranger Greg Stephens on the published book of my Cabaret Rock Opera THE 7 DEADLY PLEASURES and will be going to the ASCAP Musical Theater Workshops in LA in February to learn more about the art (and business) of the musical. While I’m down there, I’ll be playing at the wonderfully magical EDWARDIAN BALL Los Angeles on Saturday, Feb 10
THURSDAY, FEB 1: RALPHAPALOOZA: a tribute to our late great musician friend Ralph Carney. The EAGLE SF, 8 – 12 pm. I’ll be performing some originals, and this show will feature an all-star Bay Area lineup of musicians, including Robin Coomer and The Cottontails. I will be joined by Randy O’dell on drums and Greg Stephens on trombone.
